AIKIDO, SELF-DEFENSE & KI-DEVELOPMENT
A great opportunity to go back to the roots of Aikido. George Koliopoulos Sensei, first started Aikido in 1974 at the Chicago Ki Aikido Society under Master Koichi Tohei (Shin-Shin-Tōitsu Aikidō). His teacher was Fumio Toyoda Shihan, with whom he developed a very close relationship for over 25 years. Since 1994 he is a member of the Aikikai and works closely with the Hombu Dojo.
The goal of this seminar is to develop a relaxed, strong and centerbased Aikido by discovering the principles of „relaxation“, “one point“, „weight underside“, „extension“ and the „secrets“ of Tai Sabaki and Ushiro Tenkan and to learn effective self-defense techniques. Take the chance to learn wonderful Aikido from a Sensei with over 43 years of experience and enjoy the moment in beautiful dojo. During the breaks is time enough for interesting conversations, awalk through the forests or body-mind-connection at the lake. We‘re looking forward to have him and You here.
WELCOME TO THE MUSUBI DOJO!
A PLACE FOR DISCOVERING YOUR SELF AND FIND YOUR WAY
We're working hardly on our english website version ... and it seems like we need some more time ;). What about improving Your german ... meanwhile ;)
We all live. Some shorter, some longer. Is this all about life? In years ... yes! On closer inspection: no! We exist exactly in a fraction of a second, the present moment. The past is over and the future ... who knows? Life is a moment. Of course, we remember our past and we arespeculating about our future. But when do we do that? Now, in the presnet moment. When are we mentally absent? When do we act? When do we move? In the here and now. Unfortunately, we are not always completely present. The reason is? Our mind! It's like a break, if it's not pure, free of thoughts. If we're caught in patterns, we're not able to transport our consciousness into this blink of an eye. Also movements are mostly delayed. Why? You still know! MUSUBI DOJO comes from the Japanese and means "a place, to unify body and mind with the present moment". Experience an exciting journey to your self, your true existence, your life.
Many travel into the distance, without knowing themselves. In the present moment you experience your potentials, your self, inner peace, to let the things go off, sharp perception, throwing bias and fears overboard and to reflect your subjectivity, to become truly consciousness. That's all ;). It's only synchronization of body and mind with the present moment. If You need some inspiration, we offer individual courses, group seminars and regular training - just ask.
AIKIDO is a modern Japanese martial art. The main difference to other Budo disciplines is that violence is not answered by force. Aggression is the problem of the attacker, his force is a "gift" to show him the "senselessness of unpeaceful behaviour". The stronger his action, the better for us. Why? Anyone who attacks must go into extension, leave his stable center, which is "suboptimal". The Aikidoka enters the movement, carries it on and ends it, without great effort of his own. How? Upright, spindle-like bodywork and circular movements. Theoretically simple, in practice it takes a while to develop new patterns of motion and consciousness, but it's wonderful challenging and fascinating. The good thing about this: Aikido can be practiced at any age. If you exercise regularly, you will be rewarded with deep inner peace, a free spirit and a flexible body at every age. On top it "forms" personality by growing appreciation, respect and diligence. We offer Aikido as individual courses, group seminar and in regular training - just ask.
FELDENKRAIS is a holistic movement training. The body-oriented, pedagogical procedure is based on the physicist and engineer Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais. One of the cornerstones of the method is the assumption of lifelong learning, without judgment on the criteria of "right or wrong", without straining towards a goal, with curiosity and joy in the discovery of something new. Feldenkrais is not only interesting for people with movement limitations or pain, but also for those who perceive their body better and also "drive", learn more from themselves and new movement patterns. It's expanding mental and physical mobility, learning ability, creativity and performance, reducing tension and stress, achieving a functional improvement in pain or movement restrictions, and improved posture or coordination. We currently offer Feldenkrais only in seminars.
Further program extensions will follow.
